Real talk. Instagram and the rest of social media can be one big pain in the butt sometimes, with the ever changing algorithm and hiding content from people you already follow. Did you know that some accounts sneakily pay for fake followers, likes, comments, and worse, fake giveaways?!?! 🙈 Not cool.
BUT, I’m a half glass full kinda gal, so whenever I get frustrated with the ‘Gram, I also remind myself that this app has connected me to so many awesome people like my salty sister Christina (@southernmesagrading). We connected on Instagram a couple of months ago over our love of the ocean and surfing.
⬆️--> SHOP "Hang Five"<— ⬆️
So when Christina decided to participate in One Room Challenge (a six week, one room design challenge) and transform her half bathroom from blah to instant vacation in tropical paradise, she immediately went to The Sunset Shop and picked out one of my favorite surf prints as the perfect cherry on top for the instant tropical beach vacation transformation. To say the least, I'm head over heels in love with Christina's new bathroom, and not just because one of my prints is hanging on the wall. That banana leaf wallpaper, the white shiplap, and those beautifully styled floating shelves...oh my! Christina, you done good...very, very good! (Check out her One Room challenge bathroom transformation here.)
Every time I look at this shot of Christina’s bathroom transformation, it’s as if I can feel the warm sunshine on my face as I’m I’m hanging five toes off the nose of my board 🌊, just like Wingnut in my black and white surfer print, “Hang Five”. I mean, if you can’t escape to your beach paradise, then why not bring a ‘lil slice of paradise home with you to enjoy every single day?!?!
And then there is Cindy (@cynthiagroseclose), pictured below. We connected last year on Instagram, bonding over our love of surfing and creative entrepreneurship. Since then, we bounce ideas off of each other, talk shop, and even have been fortunate enough to meet up in Charleston AND in Costa Rica last week. How cool is that?!
Last but not certainly not least, I want to say thank you to you again. From the bottom of my heart, muchas gracias for sticking by this crazy girl who left her heels behind in NYC to chase sunsets and surf in Costa Rica - - I'm so glad to have connected with you!!
Pura Vida,
Kristen #thesunsetchaser
