Rachael grew up along Lake Erie, and has felt a constant and deep connection to the North Coast region all her life. Hearing stories of the rich and layered history of Cleveland's coastline has been a part of her upbringing and continues to inspire her. After graduating from Kent State with a BFA in Visual Communication Design, she launched Shore Society as a creative passion project and a way to express her pride for local lake life. Her travels have provided inspiration for creating products that can be enjoyed both on her home shoes and worldwide.
Rachael currently lives in Lakewood with her husband and their dog, Cooper. Most of her time is spent renovating their home, baking cookies, and her full-time job designing greeting cards. As evidenced by her designs, she enjoys hanging out by bodies of water, boating, and drinking rosé (also by bodies of water).
Shore Society began in 2012 with our signature "Lake Erie Love" print, and has since grown into a product line of apparel, prints, and gifts. Inspired by the rustbelt-nautical aesthetic of the north coast, Shore Society seeks to reflect this unique lakefront lifestyle. We borrow from classic iconography and blend it with modern colors and sensibility – all with a handmade touch. We're here to help you express your love for our lakes and beaches in a unique and stylish way.
Hola hola! Me llamo Kristen...that's Spanish for, "My name is Kristen" and I'm the #SunsetChaser here at The Sunset Shop and @sambatothesea on IG. 😍🌅🌴📷
I totally understand how it feels to be caught up in every day life and not be able to be at the beach in Costa Rica as much as you'd like, because not too many moons ago I worked in a cubicle on the 24th floor in the concrete jungle known as New York City. But, my life was forever changed when I made a New Year's Resolution to learn how to surf, which led me to trade my heels for a camera and surfboard in Costa Rica.
And even though you may live miles away from the ocean, you can have the beach in your every day too, because these photos prints were made for you -- my fellow beach lover, soul surfer, + sunset chaser!
