Are you an extrovert or introvert? Or are you like me, an extroverted-introvert? Someone that loves being at home and needs their alone time, but also likes to explore + meet new people??? In other words, I love being at home in Costa Rica, but I also thirst for adventure to get me out of my daily routine. Because for me, when I get out of the day-to-day, life has a beautiful way of teaching + reminding. Just like this...
Life is all about the magic in the detours and the beauty of taking time to explore.
Imagine almost missing this beautiful turquoise VW bus framed with glowing, golden Aspens because you decided not to take that detour + kept cruising on the highway???
Yep, I almost, almost didn’t pop that u-turn on the highway to backtrack to get another view of the golden Aspens shimmering in the morning light! And no detour = I wouldn’t have stumbled upon this abandoned, gorgeous VW Bus while making that u-turn. To say the least, my jaw definitely dropped as soon as I made that turn, spotting this turquoise dream…and I may have squealed in excitement, but we don’t Kombi and tell, right?! ;)
Andddddddd life is also all about enjoying the journey, and not just focusing on the destination.
The Great Sand Dunes in Colorado were simply breathtaking... literally and figuratively! Hiking up to the top was no easy task (taking one step up felt like I was taking two steps backwards of the soft sand!), but the 360 view at the top was oh-so-worth it! And guess what, going down was super easy and soft on the knees — what took Gidget and I about an hour to hike up took us about 15 minutes to go down to catch this sunset view as the sun kissed the dunes!
And now it's your turn! Have any of your travels taught you something valuable? Or reminded you of an important life lesson? I'd love to hear your story by comnmenting below -- I can't wait!
