#FelizFriday!
Did you that there is a recipe for a magical photograph? And 1/4 of the recipe is during the editing process???
You see, the editing process is the icing on the cake for a photo. A good edit will look good, but a great edit will bring that photo to life — as if you are instantly transported and witnessing the scene unfold before your very own eyes.
In other words, if you were eating a piece of cake, that icing combined with the cake creates a flavor explosion that keeps you coming back for more. I don’t know about you, but there is nothing like a delicious piece of cake…especially a mouth watering red velvet or slice of pineapple pie from Nogui’s here in Tamarindo!
And now that I’ve got you dreaming of desert, how about I show you what I’m talking about with a ‘lil before + after of one of my favorite sunset photos, Where the Sky Meets the Sea?
The image sequence above shows the image as it was photographed (straight out of the camera), and the quick edits for things like exposure, shadows, and color balance (photographer speak) -- 1/4 of my editing recipe!
**Custom 50"x50" canvas print
"Where the Sky Meets the Sea"
hanging in Costa Rica!**
What do you think?
The edit is the icing on the cake, right?!?!
P.S. What are the other ingredients you ask? 1/2 Mother Nature’s magic, and the remaining 1/4 is you — being in the right place, right time, right angle, right focal length, and then pushing the shutter to capture that fleeting moment.
P.P.S. And now I’m hungry for a slice of red velvet cake!
